GOD AND SEX
What does the Bible say about sex?
We have friends, colleagues and acquaintances. We live with different people in the same community. We watch movies and see what different countries, communities or races uphold as good or wrong. The issue of sex is something that we need to talk about. A lot of people say all sorts of things when it comes to the discussion of sex. Today’s generation has embraced the very things God abhors. God’s initial and still working plan regarding sex was to make sex sacred only for married couples (Hebrews 13:4). But, what do we hear, see and watch these days? A lot of illicit sex acts circulating all around the world.
The sexual drive of the youth of today is so high that, men/boys are ready to sleep with anything in feminine clothing. Women are ready to sleep with men as long as they hear, “I love you” or “you look sexy/hot/gorgeous/good….” they also accept sex when they feel that their libido demands so.
The word, boyfriend/girlfriend is no more decent because, the moment it is said, the first thing that usually comes to people’s mind is sex (those two have been having sex). It is very scarce these days to find a pure opposite sex relationship because some of the males can’t wait to satisfy their sexual desires thereby seeking to conquer their ladies. Similarly, some ladies are ready to give in to the boys/men because they probably want to feel the hottest guy that can give them a good sex.
Usually when it comes to sex, people have less reverence or regard for God’s word. They would want to act before finding out what the Bible says. Afterwards, they would intentionally, consciously, knowingly and shamelessly seek for forgiveness.
Presently, parents and elders of society have come to accept sex before marriage. They judge that, as long as the couples are with just a partner, then it is safe. If it is safer in man’s eyes, is it equally seen as safe in God’s eyes? The Bible states that, “flee sexual immorality” (1 Corinthians 6:18).
God does not regard marital sex as sinful because it is a legitimate right for married couples. He made it holy to be enjoyed solely by them. On the other hand, sex is seen sinful when it is done before or outside marriage. (Hebrews 13:4). That is why premarital sex or extra marital sex are being termed as fornication or adultery (Exodus 20:14). The Bible states clearly that the sin which defiles the body is sex (1Corinthians 6:18) and that our bodies are the temples of God (1Corinthians 6:18), therefore we need to keep the temple (body) holy and clean at all times so that he can continuously commune with us. That habitat of the Holy Spirit always needs to be kept clean and holy in other to accommodate Him. It becomes unclean when we sin. Fornication is one of them.
Illicit sex has dominated our world of today. A greater percentage of people do not have any regard for chastity. But we Christians who have accepted Christ and his cross have to stand up to the call and practice “No Marriage No Sex.” People see this decision or confession as colloquial and would want to use every possible means to argue that, but man, I’d rather be labeled colloquial than to be seen as someone with swag, hot, sexy, and then go against the will of my Master God (the creator). We are not perfect. But if we make conscious effort to live right for God, he will also grant us the strength we require to stay away from sexual immorality. The bible says, God will judge whoremongers and adulterers.
Let’s ask ourselves a few questions;
- Which is best, God’s words or man’s expectations?
- If God says no, and men say yes, which one must we follow?
- Must we engage in premarital sex because that is what the whole world has accepted?
- As a good practicing Christian, do you feel good in your spirit after fornicating?
Let’s ponder on the above questions. Our loving and caring father of all has given us the power to will, in that respect, man in turn has no power to dictate for Him because he does not strictly dictates for us. He has laid before us what is right and wrong yet He never strangles us to obey. Whichever way, the choices man makes will definitely have their repercussions. Man ought to learn to stand for what is right (the will of God) even if the whole world is against it, to live for God but not what the canal flesh desires.
You can please ask a friend today:
- Before you do anything, do you consider what God says?
- Would you fornicate because a majority of people are doing same or is it probably that you do not have any reverence for God?
Please tell a friend today that, being conscious to God’s word would strengthen you and give you the spirit of self control.

It’s very advising, God bless you sister for always teaching us.
