This is something humanity needs to be aware of. Scripture says
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.
Job 1:6
Take key note of this. The sons of God had gathered before the Lord. It was not just any ordinary gathering. This was in the presence of God himself, but satan still found a way to be where God and his sons were. Something worth noting is that, satan lost his sonship when he tried to dethrone God so he had no business presenting himself to God. Satan no more has any heritage in God’s kingdom, yet He found a way to be where God and his children had their meeting. That should tell us that, though you may be in church, Satan can still be there among you. You may be a Christian, yet Satan can be just as close to you as an unbeliever. Satan always find a way to be where he’s not supposed to be because he is always seeking his next target. Scripture describes Satan as the accuser of the brethren as seen in
Revelation 12:10
And I heard a loud voice saying in Heaven, “Now have come salvation and strength, and the Kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ; for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night.
Take note of this, Satan accuses the brethren day and night! If Satan was able to divide the entire host of angels in heaven and was able to diabolically convince a third of them to go against God with the intention of dethrone God the creator, then humans are easy targets if we let him. Glory to God that the devil could not overcome Him, which means, if we have God by our side and live right for him, the enemy can never overcome us too.
4. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
7. And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8. And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. (Revelation 12:4-8)
As a result of satan’s impudence, he lost his sonship and all privileges he had in the kingdom to us mortal humans instead. Due to that, he hates to think of humans as higher than him, so he makes us targets of destruction.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Revelation 12:9)
Satan now realizes he lost his rights as a son of God and is jealous of mortal humans given this privilege, so he won’t allow you to enjoy this privilege in peace and will do everything possible to strip you off it. After his fall from grace, he earned to himself various unpleasant titles and adjectives, cunning creature, the deceiver, father of all lies, the devourer, devil, the enemy, accuser of the brethren, the dragon, etc. The enemy is a cunning creature. That is why we should always be on the alert and put on the whole armor of God.
Ephesians 6:10-18
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
From the scripture we just read, we are admonished to girt our lions with truth and put on the breastplate of righteousness. The devil will not overcome you if you’re righteous and faithful to God. He may throw things at you just like he did to job, and at some point may appear that he had conquered, but the truth is, God will never leave you at the mercy of the devil. He will cease to be God if He ever does that for no apparent reason. Yes, God permitted Satan to tempt Job, but he strictly ordered him to not take his life. Difficult circumstances may befall the righteous, but through it all, he/she will come out glorious. God will never allow what is beyond you to come upon you, so if you are experiencing difficult life today, it means he has greater things for you in the future. Hallelujah! Glory to God the father!
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)
Live by God’s commandments, live by the word, and leave no room for the devil to have a reason to accuse you before God.
1 Peter 1:8 encourages us to “Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
Job was a righteous man but when God testified of him to Satan, satan immediately turned the praise and the testimony into accusation, and said, Job is faithful to God because of God’s blessings and protection over his life. he said, Job will dishonor God and curse Him if God takes away His blessings and protection over his life.
Job 1:9-11
9. Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
10. Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
11. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
The enemy won’t spare you if he has a hold on you. Do not leave any door in your life open or unattended. Do not give yourself to deception, idolatry, adultery, fornication, bitterness, envy, witchcraft and many other forms of life that do not please the father. These lifestyles would allow the enemy the opportunity to target your life and he will make sure you don’t attain your blessing both here on earth and in heaven. The Bible encourages us to
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41
When Job remained steadfast in the Lord, God blessed him beyond measure. He received double for his loss. If you’re faithful in the Lord, no accusation from the devil can alter the plans God has set in place for your life. Be steadfast in the lord. Be vigilant. Watch and pray so you do not fall into temptation my brethren! God bless you!
